Congratulations to Nefeli Papadimouli on being honored with the 2022 Matsutani Prize, generously supported by the SHOEN endowment fund, for her outstanding artistic achievements! —————————————- In 2022, the prestigious Matsutani Prize, generously supported by the SHOEN endowment fund, was awarded to Nefeli Papadimouli. This artistic accolade, established in 2016 by the eminent creators Kate Van Houten and Takesada Matsutani, offers a substantial prize of 10,000 euros to the laureate, underscoring the profound commitment of these artists to nurturing emerging talent. Under the enlightened guidance of Christine Macel, recently appointed director of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, five outstanding artists were presented to the SHOEN jury for this particular edition of the prize. The jury, chaired by Kate Van Houten and composed of Caroline Bourgeois, Valérie Douniaux, Aliska Lahusen, and Tom Laurent, carefully deliberated to select the recipient. The Matsutani Prize continues to play a crucial role in spotlighting new talents while celebrating innovation and diversity in the world of contemporary art. This award not only recognizes the exceptional talent of Nefeli Papadimouli but also enriches the global cultural heritage by offering a new creative, promising, and inspiring voice. —————————————- Inspired by the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century, embodied by iconic figures such as the German painter and decorator Oskar Schlemmer and the visionary American dancer Trisha Brown, Nefeli Papadimouli delves deeply into the exploration of the complex notion of space.
