From February 4 to 15, 2025, artist
Mateo Revillo—represented by Pal Project—takes part in the duo show
"Betwixt, Beyond & Unbound" alongside British artist Bobby Dowler. Curated by Yasmine Helou, the exhibition unfolds in a remarkable setting:
Casa Gilardi in Mexico City, the final masterpiece of Mexican architect Luis Barragán.
In this space where color and light engage in constant dialogue, the two artists explore, each in their own way, the power of form and material. More than simply exhibiting their work, Mateo Revillo and Bobby Dowler shape an environment where every element becomes an active participant in a conversation between the eye and the mind. Vivid colors, precise geometries, distinctive textures—everything here responds to an almost synesthetic intuition, where perception shifts between raw sensation and analytical rigor, between emotion and architectural structure.
Created in situ, the works inhabit Casa Gilardi, embracing its lines, playing with its shadows, and anchoring themselves in its singular atmosphere. This is more than just an exhibition—it is an experience, where the viewer, the house, and the artworks meet, search for one another, and transform in the process.
