Selected for the 8th edition of the Bourse Révélation Emerige
After studying printing, Hugo Capron graduated from ENSA Dijon in 2015, where he now lives and works. Through the exploration of the operative and compositional modes of painting, he revisits, equipped with a reduced pictorial arsenal, the mythopoetic fascination of Japanism. The later, from its emergence in the middle of the 19th century to nowadays, has not failed to arouse a particular fondness for French artists. His work has been presented in France in various group and solo exhibitions, such as at the Consortium in Dijon (2015) or at the art centre Passages in Troyes (2018), but also abroad at Minatomachi Art Table in Nagoya in 2016 and PS PROECT in Amsterdam in 2017. He was also a laureate of the Villa Kujoyama in 2019 in Kyoto.
