“Rire sur un volcan”: A Dive into the Imaginaries of Disaster at Poush, Curated by Andy Rankin

From January 23 to March 15, 2025, Poush hosts "Rire sur un volcan", an exhibition curated by Andy Rankin—represented by Pal Project—alongside Clara Darrason, Mahsan Shams, Alice Loumeau, and Valentin Bansac. At the crossroads of collapse theory, eschatology, and speculative thought, Andy continues his research into representations of disaster, questioning the materials that bear witness to and symbolize it.

The exhibition takes the form of a sensory and geological journey, a traverse through the depths where volcanic rock, sand, clay, coal, and limestone concretions intertwine. These raw elements, true archives of time and catastrophe, are accompanied by mineral voices and buried stories. The experience swings between the darkness of mines, the intensity of a magnetic field, the vertigo of a crater, and the impact of a meteorite.

Featured artists include: Cécile Beau, Fanny Béguély, Nina Berclaz, Ludwig Berger, Charlotte Charbonnel, Andrew Erdos, Shawn Murrey, Julia Gault, Mihai Grecu, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Clara Imbert, Pauline Julier, Athanasius Kircher, Atsunobu Kohira, Sabine Mirlesse, Nelson Pernisco, Darta Sidere, and Diana Vidrascu.
