Jérémie Danon

BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1994 in Paris, Jérémie Danon studied philosophy at the Sorbonne. He then went on to study at the Beaux-Arts de Paris – ENSBA in the workshops of Clément Cogitore, Jean-Charles Hue and Julien Sirjacq.

During his studies, Jérémie Danon made short films, video, photographic and sound installations as well as paintings. Through hybrid forms, dialoguing between fiction and documentary, questioning reality and its potential for narratives, he is interested in the relationship between bodies and spaces, in the imaginary, in the notions of community, territory, margin and humanity.

In parallel to his schooling, Jérémie Danon worked as a volunteer in the Jean Wier workshop for plastic expression at the Eps – Erasme psychiatric hospital for two years. He then led mixed practice workshops to accompany people towards reintegration through the Wake up café association. Plein air was born from these meetings. The film Plein air is now part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris – MAM. Today Jérémie Danon is working on a new series of paintings accompanied by sound installations that he will present for his first solo exhibition in May at the pal project gallery.
